Hi,
I recently inherited an old (but good condition) headsail for my J24. Though it appears to be a J24 genoa, it has a boltrope for a track instead of hanks. My understanding is that some J24s were built with a track along the forestay, with predictable differences in the sails they carried. Is this correct? Is there a good place to purchase the hardware to add hanks to this sail?
Thanks!

My J24 is 28 years old and came with her original fore stay with the air foil. All of the jibs and the genoa were set up for this rigging. I took my two of the sails to UK Halsey and had them converted to hanks. Since we had to unstep the mast due to hurricane Ike, I am now going to install the new forestay and use my newly modified sails. This is not that expensive and the sail shops have the equipment to do the install properly on the sail.
Good luck,
