PROPOSAL:
Delete and make rule “not in use”.

CURRENT POSITION:
A minimum of one water resistant flashlight.

REASON:
1) To simplify the Rules

COMMENTS:
A waterproof flashlight as safety equipment is required in many jurisdictions.
Removing a safety item from the Rules and suggesting it be covered in the NOR and/or SI’s will create more confusion.
The Technical Committee, Designer & Copyright Holder recommend against this proposal.

We have clearly rejected the need for a FLASHLIGHT in Europe. Is no one listening. The smallest maglite with a lump of foam attached is all that is needed to comply with this. Yet it won't be much use and racers ahve to remeber spare bulbs and batteries. Get rid of it and leave it to national jurisdictions. Once again, and inshore flare pack is the way to go.

My response is on behalf of 12 of the 23 polled Lake George - Fleet 24 members. The majority response is . . . to not change the rule. Discussion: Agree with the Technical Committee.

Lose the flashlight. we don't sail in the dark and its a stupid way to lose a championship if it doesn't work...
