PROPOSAL: To amend the current Rule as follows: Except as provided in Rule 6.1.7, only one mainsail, one genoa, one jib and one spinnaker shall be on board when racing. The total sail weight entered on the Inventory shall always be 21.5 kgs, see rule 3.7.3. CURRENT POSITION: Except as provided in Rule 6.1.7, only one mainsail, one genoa, one jib, and one spinnaker shall be on board when racing. REASON: 1) To simplify the Inventory 2) To eliminate unnecessary weighing of sails COMMENTS: The proposed change to Rule3.7.3 eliminates the need to weigh sails, and makes this proposal superfluous. Adding an arbitrary weight to is inappropriate and will lead to measurement protests. The proposal will add conflict to the rules rather than simplification. The Technical Committee, Designer & Copyright Holder recommend against this proposal. |

| My response is on behalf of 12 of the 23 polled Lake George - Fleet 24 members. The majority response is . . . to not accept the rule proposal. Discussion: Agree with the Technical Committee. |
