Consider donating your J-24, sails or trailer to a good home at New York Maritime College (Throggs, Neck, NY) instead of selling it. If you can’t get the price you would like for your J24, perhaps donating it would maximize its value for you.

If you donated your J-24 to a good home at New York Maritime College (Fort Schuyler/Throggs Neck, NY), you can claim a deduction of 100% of the fair market value as determined by a surveyor you hire! Many boat owners find the appraised value makes donating their boat more financially beneficial than selling it in today's market. We could pick it up immediately and provide a tax deduction for the full appraised value.

What's more your donation would benefit the cadets at New York Maritime College and our community sailing program. Our students love J-24’s. We operate several J-Boats (J-24, J-35) and our extensive inventory of donated J-24 sails support sail training, Wednesday night racing and participating in regattas.

Please contact me with any questions or visit our web site (http://www.sunymaritime.edu/Waterfront/Support%20the%20Waterfront/Boat%20Donations/index.aspx).

Thank you for considering donating your J24 and/or equipment.
