PROPOSAL:
Delete 3.8.8 and 3.8.9 and replace with new Rule 3.8.8 as follows:
One outboard engine of minimum weight of 14 kgs and a container with minimum of 2 liters of motor fuel or one outboard engine of minimum weight 16 kgs. The outboard may be stored under a main berth or aft of the companionway sill. See Rule 4.3.

CURRENT POSITION:
One outboard engine of a minimum weight of 14 kgs, which when not in use shall be securely stowed under one of the main berths or aft of the sill of the companionway.

REASON:
1) To simplify the Rules

COMMENTS:
The current Rule 3.8.8 is clear and simple, in contrast to the proposed wording that is confusing, and will lead to measurement protests. The proposed change to Rule 3.8.9 provides the intended simplification.
The Technical Committee, Designer & Copyright Holder recommend against this proposal.

My response is on behalf of 12 of the 23 polled Lake George - Fleet 24 members. The majority response is . . . to not accept the rule proposal. Discussion: Agree with the Technical Committee.
