PROPOSAL: The Notice of Race shall prescribe safety equipment required in the jurisdiction in which the event is held. CURRENT POSITION: For local and national events, the notice of race and sailing instructions may prescribe additional safety equipment. REASON: 1) To inform competitors of safety requirements in advance of the event. 2) To clarify the Rules COMMENTS: Recommended by the Technical Committee

This seems a very sensible suggestion allowing for Regional differences and Local requirements. Early warning is clearly useful where foreign competitors are travelling to a different jurisdiction. Chris McLaughlin Vice Chairman UK J-24

My response is on behalf of 12 of the 23 polled Lake George - Fleet 24 members. The majority response is . . . to change the rule. Discussion: Agree with the Technical Committee.
