I just purchased hull 336 (78) and it has what I believe to be a modernized campanionway cover/system. It has a removable plastic slider (without the lifting strap hole) etc.
The trim around the campanionway is plastic and the two side pieces that face aft need replacing. These are the pieces that hold the campanionway cover/board slide into vertically (hatch cover). Further, there are two trim pieces that are screwed on top of the metal slide rails presumably for aestetics and to protect the kite when being fed out/in. These also need to be replaced. The plastic is all busted up.
Two questions:
1) Should I go with plastic or teak given that these plastic pieces are busted up and may break again?
2) I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Anyone know if/where I can purchase these parts? Or do I have to fabricate my own?
