HELP ME! I have a 1996 J-24 #5184 and i can't go upwind! my biggest problem upwind is pointing. can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? where I sail the winds are usually medium to light. Someone has told me that my shrouds are not tightend properly. i have my rig at uppers = 20, lowers = 15. also where should the lead cars be with the 150 for maximum performance? my second problem is tacking,i am used to sailing boats like sonars that have sharp bows and track like they are on rails, but the J has no bow to speak of in the water so when I come out of a tack, it is hard for me to find the boats new heading on the new tack. can anyone help me? P.S. boat is for sale, it's a 1996 #5184, white hull, white deck, 10 sails, 2000 3hp yamaha on racing mount, racing bottom paint, mast mounted sailcomp, carbon spinnaker pole, 1996 single axle trailer and much more! located in Branford, Connecticut. |

Have you checked mast placement and how tight is your forestay/genoa? How much are you selling the boat for Steve |

| The boat has a class max length forestay. I am not sure of the mast position. The boat is still for sale, asking 25,000, includes trailer and lots of sails, if you are interested in the boat, e-mail me at isaacandreoli@gmail.com for more info and pics. |
