| My name is Christopher Sommerhoff. I recently purchased my first J24, and am trying to get as much information as I can on the boat. It was listed on the class site, out of Couer d'Alene, ID, as hull #240 and the sails say #240, however serial number shows it to be hull #824. The person I purchased it from didn't have records of who he bought it from, said he threw them out. He said he purchased the boat a year and a half ago, would be spring 2005. Christopher,
The hull number should also be stamped into the deck at the companionway entry. You will need to remove the piece of teak or whatever happens to be there now to be able to see it. |

| The boat was sold as hull #240, I have since discovered it is really #824. I posted both, as someone prior to the person I purchased the boat from may have mistaken the hull number, so that I might hear from prior owners, and get some information and history on the boat. Thanks again. |

| Just out of curiosity, there's no listing of all the J/24s built and their current location, how many are active, etc, is there? Thought it might be cool to check out some of the history behind some of the boats, seeing as most are 20+ years old. |

I own #241... Not that that matters, but I thought it was interesting to see #240 listed.
Get in touch with a guy named Ed Broberg (sp). I think that he still works for North Sails San Francisco. A friend of ours was very active with the Couer d'Alene fleet and own a few 24's himself. Ed might know something about your boat.

| We have a Hull #240 that sails out of Annapolis in Fleet 8. I don't know them very well but you may want to check with our fleet captain to see if he could give any more info: http://www.j24fleet8.org/membership.htm |
