The Americas Cup is proving the quality of the J24 as a boat.

Ken Read, J24 multiple World Champion, has a long association with the Cup while looking through leading runners, Cup holder Alinghi is helmed by another former World Champion, Ed Baird.

Emirates Team New Zealand gets its tactical decisions from 1998 World Champion, Terry Hutchison and Italy's Team Luna Rossa is managed by fornmer J24 World Champion, Francesco De Angelis.

The J24 is a proven path to the highest levels of international competition.

What a race at the Annapolis Worlds if all past World Champions were invited to come and race for a day and for a specific Trophy.

J/24 World Champion to win America’s Cup

What do the three remaining syndicates in the America’s Cup have in common? Each has a J/24 World Champion in the afterguard! 1983 champion Ed Baird on Alinghi, 1987 champion Francesco de Angelis on Luna Rossa and 1998 champion Terry Hutchinson aboard Emirates Team NZ. And so to the Finals of the Americas Cup, where Alinghi's Ed Baird, J 24 World Champion 1983 ,takes on Terry Hutchinson, J 24 World Champion 1998 ,with Andy Hemmings as trimmer (past J24 UK National, European and World Champion with Chris Larson in 1996.

The J-24 has spawned many great champions and the challenge now is how to attract todays dinghy Champions into the World's most successful One Design

and... lets work to get our current World Champions on future America's Cup programs.
I am having a great time watching Terry. It feels just like we are racing in San Francisco or Annapolis again. Go Team NZ!!!
