Hi,

I bought a 1980 J24 #2417 and have the boat disassembled for refit and repairs.  All is basically complete and I'm ready to start reassembly.  I need some advice on how to calculate the appropriate mast rake so that I can assess whether the mast base is mounted at the correct location on the I beam.  It's currently about 10.5" from the front edge of the Ibeam.  I haven't bought sails yet or decided on which to purchase, if that makes a difference.  Can anyone offer advice to get me started?  Many thanks.
