Should electricity/lightning travel down the mast and into the keel? I would assume so.
I checked conductivity of the mast butt bracket to the keel bolts on my J/24 and found none. It looks like it still has the original factory installed grounding wire from the I Beam to the keel. The bolt through the I beam must have somehow lost its conductivity with the I beam, or isn't it suppose to pass current?
