I noted the post on securing the battery, one of which had a suggestion for securing the engine. I would like to hear any other ideas for securing the engine and anchor, thanks.

I put our outboard in the Port side tank under the quarter berth. Take a stainless steel closed fair lead. Drill mounting holes through the port tank - facing the mid line of your boat - and use stainless fasteners with a dab of 3M silicon. I usually avoid drilling any holes in the bulkheads. If you absolutely must do so - seal the holes well with silicon or you'll attract moisture and rot. Run a piece of stout line through the fair lead and use this to tie down your engine securely. Total cost is less than $20 and includes the fairlead, fasteners, the line and the silicon.

We have bonded a f/glass Peg onto the hull in the locker to fit the out board on to it and tighten the mounting screws .

Easy and simple

Cheers
