I'm wondering why I'm having difficulty pointing as high as some of the other boats in my fleet.  Boats excellerate and point higher 5-10 degrees than me. I had the shrouds set for what the manufaturer wanted the main was hooked in even with the boom.  Head stay had about shoulder to shoulder slack in it.  Mast prebend is about 1 1/2" to 2" .  I did notice that the top of the geneoa was about 4 - 5" away from the spreader and the bottom was agains the life lines.  What in the heck am I doing wrong?

comes down to rig tension and foil preparation. have you faired your keel to optimum?

Sounds like you have the mast butt too far aft and/or may not be trimming the genoa hard enough. I had the same problem so I measured the boat that pointed the highest in our fleet. His mast butt was placed at 2810mm from the bow fitting while I was at 2835mm. By moving the butt to 2820 and trimming 1" off the chainplate/2" off the spreader (with new Eliott/Pattison sails) my altitude and speed is equal to that of the fleet. Plus, I kept the altitude when I went back to the practise sails. K.Mott OKC OK 672

HI Tom ,Reading your email,
Check some measures: GENOA CAR WITH ACTION TO IN, KEEL it does not buckle;  MEASURE OF j  AND MEASURE FORESTAY.
The most important check if the mast is centered on the boat.
