2008 World Council Meeting - Annapolis, Maryland, USA

3-5 October 2008

The United States J/24 Class Association invites the representatives of each recognized National J/24 Class Association from around the globe to the 2008 IJCA World Council Meeting in Annapolis. Hosts for the occasion are the U.S.J.C.A., J/24 District 8 and Fleet 16, and the Annapolis Yacht Club.
 
Annapolis is the site of the 2009 J/24 World Championship. We hope that the representatives will participate in the WCM and enjoy all that Annapolis has to offer as the Sailing Capital of the U.S. Of special note – Annapolis in October is overwhelmed with events. The U.S. Sailboat Show (in-water) starts 9 October 2008. WCM participants who desire to stay for the sailboat show are advised to make lodging reservations very early.

The accommodations are three historic Inns dating to the 1700s, operated as one hotel within a few minutes walk of each other. These accommodations are within walking distance of the Annapolis Yacht Club, its facilities, downtown Annapolis, the Naval Academy and historic districts. Rooms are reserved but participants are responsible for their own reservations. Reservations must be made by 15 August 2008 to guarantee availability and a room rate of $189.00 USD per night.

If you would like to check rates and availability OUTSIDE the contracted room block you will need to call reservations directly. Online reservations will only allow for the dates contracted.
 
Rooms outside of the contracted block are offered at the best rate and availability at the time of reservation.
 
Alternative Lodging: If you wish to pursue alternate lodging, it is highly recommended that you use a booking service and specify that you want to be within easy walking distance of City Dock (the center of Annapolis).  There are numerous Bed & Breakfasts in the area. Visit www.AnnpolisBandB.com for booking service.
 
Parking in Annapolis will be extremely difficult because of the boat show. It is recommended that you not rely on a car for transportation.
 
Arrivals and Transfers: 
It is recommended that participants fly into Baltimore-Washington Airport (BWI). Transportation from the Baltimore-Washington Airport and Annapolis are available by Shuttle for $31 USD.   Additional transportation options from BWI may be arranged.
