J-24 District 20, Fleet 17 Crew List

The J-24 is a terrific one-design racing class, and Fleet 17 owners are always on the lookout for enthusiastic crew. If you'd like the opportunity to crew on a J-24, please let us know! We'll do our best to find you a ride on one of our boats.

The individuals on the crew list have contacted or been referred to Fleet 17 expressing their interest in crewing or their need for crew. Fleet 17 cannot vouch for the experience of these individuals. Owners should satisfy themselves as to each person's suitability by interviewing potential crew personally. I am from the Netherlands and have a lot of sailing experience there. I’ve mainly sailed in open keelboats on lakes. I am a sailing instructor in a 16m2 BM and have racing experience in an Efsix (incl spinnaker). Since I don't have a lot of experience in sailing on the sea or ocean I don't know a lot about tides and currents and all the terminology I know is in Dutch. I miss sailing a lot, especially racing, therefore I´d like to crew.

I am currently the Race Captain for that fleet. I've worked all positions (except tactitian). Although I have only some experience with spinnakers, I am light and quick on a boat and have a good strength to weight ratio. I love the intensity of racing and can keep a cool head in tight situations.

I completed this course on the San Francisco bay the Spring of 2005. I have not had the time to get on the water due to recent work obilgations, but I have the time now. I would best be utilized as Grinder on your team. I was a collegiate athlete and believe that I would be a great addition to your team. I am still rough around the edges due not being in a boat for a while, but once I am told what do you will not have to tell me again. I also did some dinghy sailing in college, but most of my racing experience is in lightnings on the east coast. I've lived in San Diego the last 6 months and have raced mostly thistles and a Benetau 40.7. I'm moving up to SF around Feb 25th and would love to hop on a J24!
