Report by Nancy Zangerle - USJCA Vice-President

Great fun at 2004 J/24 Great Lakes in Oswego, NY. Beautiful place to sail and very nice hosts. Saturday was light 5-8 knots. Reid Stava, the IJCA Class Measurer, was PRO. On Saturday, a light breeze sent us in early after three races, with plenty of time to get cleaned up for the Saturday night festivities. Oswego YC put on an immense Steak Dinner for the competitors, complete with lots of yummy home made desserts and a properly stocked beer truck with Labatts on tap.

Sunday brought more breeze from the south (12-15 with gusts to 18), and more oscillations (20-30 degrees). The breeze and pressure were easier to see this day and the sailors were treated to 3 more great races.

Despite the 61/2-hour drive from Cleveland, Oswego definitely stays on the list of places worth revisiting. The Organizing Committee obviously worked hard on getting lots of sponsorship and support and it showed.
